Program Philosophy Regarding Junior Olympics
  1. Participation in Junior Olympics is separate from the Summer and / or Spring Session and there will be an additional fee.  ($200-$400)  The cost is considerably less if athletes room with their parents during the JO tournamnet.
  2. Expectations are also higher for the athletes participating in this program.  Practice attendance, tournament participation, etc.
  3. The fee(s) for participation are exclusive of any additional expenses for parent hotel rooms, food, etc.
  4. JO athletes will pay for the coaches hotel room, coach per diem, and tournament entry fees.  Sac Polo will place a minimum of two coaches on each team during the USA WP JO Tournament.
  5. Athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in the Sacramento Water Polo Spring Session.
  6. Athletes must be registered with USA WP as a Gold Athlete (Club #630) prior to May 31st.
  7. Athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in the NorCal Cup. Our Junior Olympic Qualifying Tournamen team(s) will be selected at the conclusion of the Spring Session and the NorCal Cup tournament.
  8. Athletes must attend the Central California Zone Junior Olympic Qualifying Tournament.  (dates / sites posted below)
  9. Our USA WP Junior Olympic rosters will be named within 48 hours of the conclusion of the JO Qualifying Tournament.  A $200 non-refundable deposit must be paid immediately in order to secure the athletes roster spot.  This will prevent athletes from backing out of the USA WP JO Tournament at the last minute.
  10. 15 athletes per team will be named to the Sacramento Water Polo USA WP National Junior Olympics rosters.
  11. Playing time is NOT guaranteed for all athletes on the roster.
  12. Sacramento Water Polo is committed to placing as highly as possible in the USA WP National Junior Olympic Championship Tournament.

Boys: June 19th / 20th @ Clovis
Girls: June 26th / 27th @ Johansen HS (Modesto)

Junior Olympic Practice Schedule
Attendance will be taken at every practice.

16U Boys:  @ Sierra College every Friday during the Summer Session. 4:00pm - 5:30pm
18U Boys:  @ Sierra College every Friday during the Summer Session. 4:00pm - 5:30pm

12U Boys:  @ Sierra College every Friday during the Summer Session.  5:30pm - 7:00pm
14U Boys:  @ Sierra College every Friday during the Summer Session.  5:30pm - 7:00pm
16U Girls:  @ Sierra College every Friday during the Summer Session.   5:30pm - 7:00pm

Schedule of Games:

Athletes meet coaches on the pool deck 45 minutes prior to game starting time.

Mandatory Meeting for all athletes:
Boys: Friday, July 30th in the team hotel lobby at 8:30pm. Athlete deck passes, last-minute information, etc. will be distributed.
Girls: Wednesday, August 4th in the team hotel lobby at 8:30pm. Athlete deck passes, last-minute information, etc. will be distributed
